MFVA Media
Established in the spring of 2011, MFVA Media was founded to serve the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word’s vocation promoting and publicizing needs. More importantly, it gives friars the opportunity to do media evangelize outside of EWTN. MFVA Media administers and oversees all website and social media endeavors of the Community. In the early years of their formation they are taught introductory courses in Mass Media, film, television, public relations and journalism. Learning multi-media skills prepares friars to better serve the production and spiritual needs of EWTN.
Comunita Cenacolo America
Mother Elvira Petrozzi founded the Cenacolo Community on July 16, 1983 in Sauzzo, Italy. Now in 18 countries and in 61 homes, the organization provides men and women suffering from addiction with an encounter of God’s mercy. Occupants are given a second chance and provided with an environment of Catholic prayer, work and healing. Not long after his appointment as Bishop of Birmingham, Bishop Robert Baker was instrumental in establishing a Cenacolo House in the diocese. Since then the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word celebrate Masses and spiritual support once a week for the home located in Hanceville, Alabama.
Sister Servants of the Eternal Word
With the charisms of St. Francis and St. Dominic, the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word commit to live their consecrated lives in deep contemplative prayer and in catechizing and evangelizing. They serve the people of God by providing a retreat house for them to rest in the Lord with prayer and spiritual lessons. The Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word devoutly and joyfully celebrate Mass for the Sisters and assist with confessions for retreat attendees.
Franciscan Lay Missionaries of the Eternal Word
The Franciscan Lay Missionaries of the Eternal Word are called by God to grow in holiness in accordance with their state in life, whether married or single or members of the diocesan clergy. This, in itself, is their primary contribution to the Church. They follow the Gospel way of perfection after the example of Saint Francis of Assisi and assist the wonderful works that God has brought about through Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, our spiritual mother.
EUCHARISTIC PILGRIMAGES
In their apostolate to pilgrims, the friars warmly welcome them and show a genuine concern for their spiritual welfare and growth. EWTN’s Chapel and surrounding grounds provide a place for prayer and contemplation. Tours, talks and time are given to those who come to see the good work God has done through Mother Angelica.
