December 6th, 2023, will mark the 25th anniversary of the passing of our Brother Marion into eternal life.

Frank Giglio, Sr., a successful businessman from New York, was an early collaborator with Mother Angelica and a supporter of EWTN. He was also a tremendous benefactor to the Blue Army of Fatima in Washington, New Jersey and became a veritable Apostle of the Brown Scapular, giving away hundreds of thousands in his desire to save souls from the eternal fire. A father with two children, Frank witnessed his wife die from cancer before receiving his own diagnosis of terminal cancer. Wanting to end his days in a holy life, he arranged a trust fund for his children, and Mother Angelica welcomed him as one of the first members of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word. Knowing his great devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, she gave him the playful name: Brother Marion Mary of the Holy Name of Mary. It fit him perfectly. In spite of his cancer diagnosis Brother Marion lived more than a decade, progressively losing his ability to walk and speak. He never lost his strong will though and insisted that as much as possible everything be Fatima blue, his sheets, his towels and even his shampoo. Recent friars did not know Brother Marion. But for those that did, and helped care for him, his example will never be forgotten. Nor will his brief, often repeated prayer, “Mary, help me love Jesus more.” And that’s just what she did…

  1. Thank you so very much all at ewtn. Our Catholic church needs ewtn ..needs more than confirmation…ie regular instruction through high school..w certificate upon being educated into our Catholic faith. Saint Mother Angelica…and Saint Fulton Sheen…all Saints have worked for this but Church needs certified instruction that more not be lost…

  2. Watching today’s mass and hearing the story of Br Marion, I am inspired to request daily prayers for our son Joseph Ferro who also has been given a diagnosis of terminal cancer, called NUT carcinoma. Joseph has received Catholic education through 7th grade and confirmation. Unfortunately, while in high school he and his two older sisters decided to stop attending Holy Mass. He needs prayers; first that he return to our Mother Church, then if it be the will of our Father in Heaven and for the good of his six sons, that he be miraculously healed of the cancer. I ask this through the immaculate heart of Mary and in the holy name of our Lord Jesus.

  3. I heard Fr. Leonard Mary talk about him during his homily this morning. Br. Marion sounds like he was a wonderful, blessed man of God and Mother Mary. My mother died on the same day, Dec. 6, 2002. Her name was Thelma and she loved Jesus and Mary too, as I do, and watched EWTN all the time. She taught me to do the same. May they rest in peace along with all the souls of the faithful departed through our dear Lord’s mercy.

  4. Brother Marion help me my way to be like you Amen ,😇😇😇😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  5. I was on the road to perdition in my life. It was our Blessed Mother that brought me back to Jesus. My life has been turned upside down in a good and holy way. Thank you Lord Jesus for sending Your precious mother to lead me back to you.

  6. rest in Peace Br. Marion thank you for passing our scapulars as I too love Mary of the brown scapular and I ask her to help me love JESUS more and teach me to pray all the time. THANK you for sharing Brother Marions story.
