COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fr. Leonard and Br. Leo go on a mission of evangelizing and catechizing at two Colorado parishes.
Their two week journey began with a parish mission on March 13 at St. Peter’s in the City of Monument. Fr. Leonard preached at all the weekend Masses. Br. Leo catechized the church faith formation youth. Children, parents and catechist were impressed with his creative and innovative means of communicating the faith. He did the same for the parish pre-school, elementary, and middle schools students during the week.
Father led evening lessons for adults on the “Supernatural Effects of Sacramental Grace.” Each night he spoke about the different sacraments and how grace received from them unites us and conforms us to Christ.
After, they went to St. Joseph’s in Colorado Springs to lead a parish retreat. Brother assisted with parish confirmation retreat on Saturday March 18th. The following day he taught the faith formation children. He was again a tremendous hit among the kids and parishioners.
Father preached at all the weekend Masses. The three day weekday retreat included morning Mass with an extended homily and evening conference. The theme was the same as at St. Peters.
Fr. Gregory Golyzniak, Pastor at St. Peter’s. and Fr. Brogdan Siewiera provided generous hospitality for our friars. They treated them to visits to Garden of the Gods Park, the Air Force Academy and Pikes Peak in the Colorado Mountains.
Father and Brother returned to Irondale on Thursday March 23rd. Both were grateful to God for their experiences and were happy to be home.
