Many people who feel called to a vocation to the priesthood often struggle with the desire to pursue a career in a particular field of interest. Perhaps it is a passion for science, biology, or teaching, and they feel they will lose the ability to pursue those interests by dedicating their lives to Christ.
But many religious orders are actually places where a person’s natural abilities are developed and nurtured, so that they may use their God-given talents for Christ and His Church. The Jesuits are known for producing scientists, the Augustinians for biologists, the Dominicans for educators, et al.
But for those with an interest in communications, such as television, radio, web, and social media, we encourage you to spend some time discerning our community. The Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word serve at the largest Catholic media outlet in the world, EWTN, as well as live a professed religious life in the Franciscan tradition.
If you are a single man between the ages of 21-35 who is discerning a calling to religious life, and particularly to a community focused on evangelization through modern communication technologies, we invite you to learn more about our community and attend our San Damiano Discernment Retreat, DECEMBER 20-23, 2017.
