Brothers and Sisters,
We friars are inviting you to the EWTN Family Celebration in Birmingham, AL! People often tell us they see us on EWTN everyday. Now, we want to see you! Come and enjoy a day with the friars and other EWTN personalities. The event will feature talks, adoration, confessions, Mass, and a play area for children with spiritual lessons. Additionally, EWTN Religious Catalogue will be on-site, offering a wide selection of books, rosaries, art, and many other Catholic items for purchase.
We also invite you to join us for a solemn walk with the Lord with a Eucharistic Procession through the streets of Birmingham starting from the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center (BJCC) and concluding at St. Paul’s Cathedral. This holy and lively occasion is scheduled for Saturday, August 26, 2023.
To learn more about the event and your invitation to the Family Celebration, watch our Outside the Friary video “Exploring BHM”. I haven’t seen Jim, the Sacristan lately at Mass in the morning. Will he be back?
Fr. Leonard Mary, thank you for your wonderful inspirational homily on the wise and foolish Virgins. Meets the ordinary where they they are.
Glad to hear Jim is back serving at Mass. Hope all is well with him and his family and our prayers have been answered if it was a health problem or family matter. Welcome him back.
Thank You for the Mass each day of the year Thank You
Fr. John Paul, I am a 76 year old widow for 10 years. My husband was a former Jesuit scholastic; he was 65 yrs old and we were married for 41 years when he died suddenly. Your homily on December 30th on Anna and Simeon hit me in the heart. Our two daughters, now in their upper 40’s, enjoyed going to Mass with us as kids and helping with the choir that Greg and I and another couple started 39 yrs ago; the choir still goes strong. But within 6 months of Greg’s death, both girls had been left by their husbands. Neither will talk to any priest about annulment because they believe that their kids will think that they are “mistakes” and should never have been born. Since they have drifted away from the Church, their kids don’t have a chance to learn much about the faith they were baptized into. As you seem to understand quite well from your homily, this is a heartache for me. I just wanted to tell you how much your homily struck home. When I have seen you in the past, you have always looked joyful. At that Mass, you appeared to be very solemn; it left me wondering if you also have family members involved in this struggle. In any case, thank you so much for your concern for those of us in this plight and please continue to pray for us.
When in BrotherJohn going to take his Final vows ?
Im so very blessed to have you in my life ,thank you everyone of you 🙏
God Bless you all & thank you Fr. Leonard for your ministry & kindness. Prayers coming your way!!!
God bless you Noah! I knew you would succeed!!!!
I really like listening to you. Please do a Mass for Families right now in conflict over so many reasons in this World we live in today. Our Family was oncle close but with many obstacles through years, we have been tormented. I am Byzantine Catholic born and raised. There’s no other Church that I’ve been to that’s compared. My now deceased older Brother was a Monk in Greece and attended Seminary in NY and lived in Russia teaching and buried in Greece now. I am very distraught w Catholic church right now(mainly Roman Catholic.) for many reasons. That is why I enjoy and look forward listening to you on Sundays. I struggle w sin everyday and I pray God destroys the evil in this World every night. Thank you for your time.
