INONDALE, Ala. – On the feast of the Transfiguration, Br. John Therese Marie renewed his temporary vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience during the EWTN televised Mass. Br. John Therese has now renewed his temporary vows for fourth consecutive year and the friars are now looking and praying towards Brother professing his final vows next August.

When a friar makes his final profession of vows, he consecrates himself to God for the whole of his life. Currently, Br. John Therese is busy taking philosophy classes, taking care of friary maintenance, and assisting the EWTN pilgrimage department with tours. Brother is projected to begin his seminary studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg,MD in the fall of 2017.

  8. I too want to congratulate Brother JohnTherese on his most recent vows. When I first saw Brother John on EWTN TV daily mass I thought he would make a good football player, and when Fr. Mark announced his football knowledge I told myself, I KNEW IT, Brother John is connected to football and I would like for him to become a priest and get on a new FOOTBALL on the ROCK program as a football announcer where EWTN can give us all the scoop on winning teams and scores – that would be awesome to have Fr. John Therese involved…so how about it Brother John – how cool that would be.

  11. I pray for you Brother John Therese at daily mass. I am struck by your piety especially when you read the Homily or lead the Prayers. May you have a very successful continuation of your studies until its completion August 2020. God willing I will be able to watch your ordination- I turn 85 the next month. I am touched by your humility especially when I saw your parents at mass with you when they came to visit from Texas I believe, May God continue to bless you in all ways always.

  12. Dear Brother John,
I enjoy seeing you at Mass on EWTN. I just recently started watching mass everyday on EWTN. When I saw you I could instantly feel that God has blessed you with his spirit. Thank you for your dedication to the Lord. Know that you will help bring people to Jesus, to know His love and salvation. You have a gift. Amen

  13. I have been greatly gifted by being able to follow the EWTN’s Daily Mass. It is such a wonderful opportunity to share with the Franciscan Fathers the Mass, excellent Homilies and outstanding Schola and Organist. (As a a retired church organist, I fully value all the hours of hard work and dedication towards preparation for Liturgies.) When Brother John reads the Readings and Prayers of the Faithful, I sense in him a heart of compassion and reverence, which flows out to all of us who are watching and listening. Thank you so very much for “praying with us and for us” as you often tell us.

  14. When will Br. John Therese Marie become a priest and able to say Mass? Will he stay at EWTN… I sure hope so.
