IRONDALE, Ala. – Commuters passing the Eternal Word Television Network will now enter “Mother Angelica Way.”
The City of Irondale, Alabama honored Mother Angelica with naming a portion of Old Leeds Road after her. This small section of street is in front of the EWTN campus. Mayor Tommy Joe Alexander, city officials and residents, EWTN employees, and the friars gathered for the event. Fr. Mark opened and closed the ceremony with prayer. Fr. Anthony was also interviewed by CBS affiliate WIAT Birmingham.
Old Leeds Road will remain as the postal address for EWTN and the Friary. The naming of a section of street or highway after a person is a form of honoring them for their extraordinary life and accomplishments. On your next visit to Network take a look at the Mother Angelica Way sign. The Friars are extremely grateful for the honor bestowed upon their beloved foundress.
