On May 13th, 1917, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children in the fields of Fatima, Portugal. The Virgin Mary continued to visit Jacinta (7 years old), Francisco (9 years old), and Lucia (10 years old) once a month until October 13th, 1917. During these apparitions, Mary gave several messages to the children and specifically requested that all Catholics begin to pray a daily rosary as reparation for the sins of the world, for the conversion of sinners, and for world peace.

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of this miraculous apparition, the  Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word will honor Our Lady of Fatima by making a Holy Hour at 2 pm on the 13th of each month (until October) at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. If you are not able to attend this Holy Hour with us, we encourage you to pray a Rosary as Our Mother Mary requested!

Perhaps you could offer your daily Rosary for Br. Matthew as he celebrates his Diaconate Ordination on June 9th. Br. Matthew began preparing for the priesthood in 2007 when he entered the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word and this is an important milestone on his vocational journey. You can listen to Br. Matthew’s compelling vocation story here.
